i replaced the stock plastic headband on these headphones with an extended silver headband that looks pretty slick. its a little longer than the original headband, so it doesnt interfere with the ear cups, and its also a different color than the original headband. it isnt exactly sleek or beautiful, but it adds a bit of styling and also adds a bit of comfort. if you want to go totally custom, you can use a 3d-print headband or even just get a silver one from a local hobbyist for about $10. it doesnt have to be silver, though. you could also drill out a spot on the headband and add a pin to hold it in place.
it isnt clear whether these come with any sort of warranty, but i suspect that they have a standard one, just not the cheapest one out there. its not expensive, so you shouldnt need to worry about voiding the warranty with just normal wear and tear.
audio-technicas warranty is pretty much all youll ever need. when i first received my set, the cups werent going to fit too well, and i took them back to the authorized shop where i bought them and asked the guy to bend the headband even more so they could fit better. he did so, and the fit was immediately improved. the next day, i contacted the company and asked if they would do free exchange due to me having no use for the ear cups. they declined, and stated that i could choose to return the goods. since they have the first two years of the warranty, i decided to return them and not have a hassle with returning it. i could have simply accepted the part as is and kept the headphones. since i didnt, im not covered under the warranty.
