As mentioned, JiveX [dv] Viewer is a handy and fast way of comparing before and after images. Simply drag a DICOM file on the interface or set it as the default application for opening DICOM files and you will see the effect.
To zoom in/out the images or have them in fullscreen mode, just click the “Magnify” and “Fullscreen” buttons respectively, or again press the “N” key to open the settings submenu and then activate the “Zoom” or “Fullscreen” settings.
The app’s most useful feature, “Measure” mode, is detailed in the next section.
Measure
JiveX [dv] Viewer’s “Measure” mode allows you to measure the dimensions, positioning and distance between any of the displayed elements.
Specifically, you can measure the dimension of the shard or piece of bone in question, either having it’s radius (in the center) or its length (the center to center).
The distance between two elements can be measured in the same way (e.g. center-center) or the length of one element to the length of another (one element to another).
This feature is extremely useful when it comes to monitoring the growth of bones and measuring the size of any growths that may be in the process of healing or forming.
