This McDonald’s design I created with the benefit of the iPad’s dynamic Pencil tool. I started off by drawing the logo with a simple ink slant on the very top layer. Then I used a brush to soften the edges. Next I created an entirely new layer, added a color and a blur filter, and used Expressionist to create both the lipstick and the sprinkles. (How cool is that!? Pasting Macros and Layering!) Next came some more finishing touches with the Power and Size sliders, and then lo and behold, it was finished! I made a couple more interesting variations using different shapes. Then I brushed on some metallic ink and increased the saturation/darkness. Not pictured: I opened up Paint.app and pasted in a Sea Life image and used Expressionist’s white on white tool to pull some bluer highlights out and then drew on some colored shapes.

This was a fun one to do. I started with a lot of old magazine clippings I worked with years ago. I was so happy with the shapes on the table and edges, so I removed the table, and just used those shapes to start the whole design. As you can see, this one took a little extra effort!

And now for the next design, scaled up to a 2048 x 1536 image. I started off with a pretty clean black background. I used an Adobe Illustrator brush to paint in a 2016 gray swatch, then used Expressions like Hue and Light to add touches of color, and then used a Wet Sand technique to work straight through to the frame. And then of course I added some glitter.
