Cracking Adobe Photoshop is not as straightforward as installing it. It requires a few steps to bypass the security measures that are in place. Apart from a hefty cataloging element, I found Lightroom to be fairly easy-to-use and easy to tack on to the old. The idea that Lightroom could function like a “Bridge to Lightroom” was intriguing enough that I fully intend to investigate the “Turbo” speed feature that it offers. This is a time-saving feature that, at least on my test computer, sped up the software’s performance by appreciable amounts.
Another thing that I wished was available in the magazine demo was the ability to remove objects from a photo with one click. While I expected that this function was still a bit clunky, it seemed to be working and it’s easier than removing a paper clip. Adobe had in fact already hinted at a simpler, more accurate object selection, and while the feature is still relatively buggy, I applaud the company for investing effort in that goal.
There are also import features to help you get photos in your collection, such as from a folder, card reader, or external hard drive. You can also import paintings, PDFs, and other documents, and for compact photo forming your images can be converted to other formats, such as Affinity Photo, Pinhole, and older versions of Adobe Camera Raw.
What It Does: The Fill tool, formerly the Paint Bucket tool, fills any solid area with the color of your choice. It’s great for solid backgrounds or coloring large areas. It can also be used to apply patterns to your images. The Gradient tool lets you create a nice, faded background effect of the color of your choice. Copy and paste lets you select areas and grab them to paste them into another area. The Eraser tool lets you remove unwanted parts of an image.
