Rue Ami is an app that you run on your iPhone or iPad that allows you to display a local map of almost any location in the world, link that location to a specific year in the past, annotate the map with pins and details about that place for that year, and finally share the results with friends and family. Have fun with the app and connect with long-lost friends through place and time.
Research your ancestry and create maps of your grandparent’s home; re-create your childhood neighborhood complete with the first names and descriptions of your best friends; show where you went to school and what you did there. Connect with childhood friends you haven’t seen in years. Reminisce with relatives over the neighborhoods you used to live in, or inform each other about the distant (or nearby) places where your grandparents lived or worked. Re-establish connections with your school buddies, whether elementary school, high school or college. That’s another reason to use the forums — you can connect one-on-one with those you once knew, but haven’t seen in years.
